Edward A. Smith, Esq.

Edward has been licensed by The State Bar of California and has been in continuous practice as an attorney and litigator since 1989. He has a wide breadth of civil law experience, including civil litigation (jury and court trials in State and Federal Court), mediations, arbitrations, employment law, contract law, debtor-creditor law, municipal law, insurance defense (automotive and home owner policy), landlord-tenant law, unlawful detainers, administrative law, tax law, transactional estate planning, probate and trust litigation, real property law, business law (formation, transactional and litigation), and bankruptcy law. Edward is married with two children. He is active in community service through Lions Clubs International, where he has served as a club (Roseville Host), district (4C-5), and state officer (MD-4). Edward’s hobbies and interests focus on youth leadership development and education including high school debate, speech competitions, scholarships, and promoting growth of Lions Clubs at college campuses in the greater Sacramento area.

Stephan M. Brown, Esq.

Since 2006, Stephan has helped numerous individuals and small businesses in several areas including tax planning and preparation, tax controversy, and offshore voluntary disclosures. Stephan received his B.S. in Accounting from San Diego State University, and his J.D. with an emphasis in Taxation from Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law. He has been licensed to practice before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent since 2008, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2014. Stephan is a fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute, a designation that is regarded as evidence of significant expertise in the representation of taxpayers before the IRS. Stephan is dedicated to finding the best possible result for each client on an individualized basis. Stephan was born in Sacramento, and grew up in nearby Solano County. After high school, he attended San Diego State University, where he met his wife, Eva. He then went to work for a tax accounting firm for several years in Portland, Oregon, where he experienced several instances in which clients were apprehensive about dealing with the IRS, which inspired him to become a tax attorney. He moved back to California to pursue his law degree, where he was a published member of the Chapman Law Review, graduated cum laude, and gained invaluable experience working for a prominent Orange County tax attorney. Stephan enjoys playing sports, playing the piano, watching movies, and going to Giants and Warriors games.

Eric T. Welch

Eric is a Sacramento area native; born and raised in the California Gold Country. He is a graduate of El Dorado High School in Placerville. Eric attended Cosumnes River College and California State University, Sacramento, and has a degree in Business Administration. Eric is an experienced legal executive. He served on the executive management team and was a key contributor to the success of several northern California law firms, which specialized in estate planning and probate, asset protection, real property and real estate litigation, business law, bankruptcy, and taxation. Eric was the Managing General Partner of a commercial real estate firm based in Roseville for more than 10 years. His working knowledge of both commercial and residential real estate and his industry contacts have proven invaluable to our clients. Eric is married and has three adult children. The Welches will celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary this summer. They raised their children in the Roseville community. Eric and his wife Susan are active in the community. Eric has served on Little League boards, managed youth sports, and the Welches are founders and supporters of Project DREAM, a local non-profit that provides enrichment for inner-city youth.
